Projects

Municipality in Central Oregon

A small city in Central Oregon wants to establish community scale microgrid that encompasses 5 sites that have been identified as critical facilities. They consist of the waste treatment facility, city hall, water intake facility, maintenance facility that may have community solar and an emergency response site. The city has lost all faith in the utility as they have experienced multiple outages and at times these outages have lasted days. With these outages, it has affected the ability for the city to attract companies for economic development purposes.

Solar In Your Community Challenge

R2B with its partners want to provide a member-owned community microgrid model that enables individuals to directly own panels in a community solar farm on reservation.

By working in partnership with Indigenous groups, we will partner with other organizations to implement an on-site educational program around renewable energy to promote clean tech jobs and added economic development opportunities to the community.

Commercial building with solar near Portland, OR

This project consisting of multiple buildings and tenants is located near Portland, Oregon. The goal of this project is to highlight the benefits of a Grid-tied Solar and Battery Energy Storage System based Microgrid. This project is a demonstration site for islanding operations, resiliency during outages, economic benefits of energy storage systems in net metering as well as the open source OpenFMB microgrid control platform.

Eco-District in Willamette Valley

A 1.1 square mile redevelopment project led by a city in Willamette Valley, Oregon. A city refinement plan has been developed and identified that this destination will be a showcase site that encompasses the most sustainable practices and become the first eco-district project. The electrical grid is unable to support redevelopment which is impeding the speed and interest of development. Currently, the city is supporting developers in establishing a hotel and conference center that will entail a series of buildings to be identified as phase 1. The hotel consists of 200 rooms and 42k sq ft conference center with a parking structure and various commercial buildings such as retail, office, restaurants and service-oriented businesses.

Renewable Tribe in Canada

This project is a Native Canadian Tribe located in Canada. Located in the remote area, the tribe relies on a lot of diesel gen-sets for power resulting in high cost of power and adverse environmental impacts due to its interests in developing renewable energy microgrid as part of the economic development plan for the tribal members. The microgrid will provide consistent, reliable and resilient power to meet the current power requirements of the tribe as well as enable the tribe to sell the excess power generated by the utility.

Spring Housing

R2B Microgrid Solutions and Spring Capital announced the formation of a strategic partnership, to design and develop Microgrid Solutions for residential sub-division and commercial/industrial projects.

1st Largest Green community in Easten Oregon

A 50 acre site located in Eugene, Oregon will be developed into a large 200 high end residential subdivision with homes. Many homes in that subdivision are 3,000 square feet or larger with a asking prices between $580,000 and $890,000 with a large community area and potentially a community space. A 200‐house subdivision would be Eugene’s largest single‐family residential development in more than a decade.

2nd Largest Green community in Easten Oregon

Another 50 acre site located in the eastern Oregon will be developed into a large 176 Unit residential subdivision in four phases. Phase 1 will include 68 Single Family homes. Phase 2 will include 20 Single family homes and 18 Townhomes. Phase 3 will include 24 Single Family homes and 18 Townhomes. Phase 4 will have 28 Single family homes. In total 140 Single Family and 36 Duplex Townhomes will be constructed over the 4-phase construction.
